20 Years!

Have you ever looked at a large, old tree and wondered how long it has been there? It’s amazing to think that, at one point, that gigantic tree was merely a tiny seed.

In the same way, our words and actions are seeds; and we will always reap a harvest on what we sow. What are you sowing into the lives around you? What are you sowing into your future? Are you sowing encouragement, hope, blessing, and love? Then that’s what you’ll reap in the future. But if you’ve been sowing criticism, judgment, and anger, you’re probably already reaping a bad harvest.

I have reaped a very great harvest, 21 + years ago today my wife and I met. 20 years ago on this date we were married it has been humbling and awesome. The seed we planted many years ago has grown and thrived, we are more in love today and it grows tremendously with each and every year. It is hard to imagine that this gigantic tree was merely a tiny seed 20 years ago.

I send my love to all of my family my friends and to all I have ever known in my life.

I have never held any hatred in my heart for any person I have ever known. I have tried to never judge, feel envy, contempt or anger anyone. Looking back, I think the lack of hate in my life is what helped fertilize and grow the few seeds I have planted in my life.
Including the seed of my own life that I have ignored and left unfed many times in my life.
We will always reap what we sow.

God help us all.

A Bounce Back Person

Be a Bounce Back Person

A bounce-back person sees adversity and every setback not as permanent, but temporary. It’s not going to last forever. Every difficulty that comes your way, you can be encouraged by it, knowing that you’re going to come out better than you were before. Why is that? Because it is in our DNA. God created us and intends us to walk in the same power which raised Christ from the dead, that same overcoming power and attitude that even the grave can’t keep down.

Studies prove that during a hurricane, a palm tree will simply stretch and not break from the strong winds. It’s bent and pushed over, and all the while, it’s root system is actually being strengthened and given new opportunities for growth. That is the same way we were built to be. It even says in Psalm 92:12, “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree.” That means God knew there would be difficult times in our lives, that things would come against us, trying to steal our joy, peace and victory. He’s not surprised by our difficulties, but rather knew ahead of time and equipped us with everything we need in Him! Because we have strong roots, we are going bounce right back. The storms in life will come. The winds will blow. But no weapon formed against us will prosper!

Sunday trip to airport to pick - up flowers

Half way and had to pull over and set under a bridge to wait out the worst part of the storm. I think in the second cloud photo there is a small vortex forming up in the left upper part of the picture? But Pam had to have the flowers for her 5:30 AM route Monday morning!

Good to be back home!

I like feeding the birds each evening they chirp and squawk and are fun to watch!
Simple mind simple pleasures…

Kansas to Texas - Texas to Kansas

To My Mom, And all the Mom's out there!

Dear Mom

Not so long ago
We were babes in your loving arms
We were kids playing in your backyard
We were young teens riding our bikes
We were teenagers spreading our wings
We were young adults seeking your advice
You were with us through all these things
Through good times and bad
We can never forget all the love you gave
The hugs and kisses we craved
We only want to say
On this special day
You have been the angel at our side
A mom who gave us love and pride
We always keep you in our night time prayers
We will always remember you
Holding us in your old rocking chair

Happy Mothers Day

Marci Cook

Marci Cook
You’re on my mind
It’s been years ago
That you were mine
It seems to me only yesterday
We were laughing, sharing, loving
In our own special way
I don’t mind telling you Marci
That I really do love you
They say the first love
You never forget
But I’m afraid you’ve forgotten
Has time taken its toll
Or have you tried
To forget me

May 23. 1972 (Gulf of Anadyr, Russia) Somewhere we were not suppose to be!

We were told if we were caught everything would be O.K. (name rank and serial number)
Yes Sir!…… Sir! Yes Sir!
So anyway, I wrote this for a guy who used to read the crap I wrote while we were at sea.
He had a girl back home that he would talk about all the time named Marci Cook –
I really liked the name Marci Cook. Bob was a great guy and friend –
He asked if I could write him something for her as us being where we were, we were all scared, lonely and stupid. So I wrote this for him/her….
I think he sent it to her
